After being diagnosed with Stage 2 Rectal Cancer, I was informed by the NHS that I would need to undergo a course of Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy, which I completed. I was told my tumour had been eradicated and was advised to come back for scans every six months for five years. Unfortunately, after 12 months, I received the devastating news that my cancer had returned. The recommendation was to undergo surgery for a permanent stoma.
